Frequently asked questions

Last updated: 18 October 2026

What is the maximum price?

The maximum price is the highest amount a Belgian petrol station may charge for fuel. The FPS Economy calculates it every working day and publishes it officially. Stations may sell cheaper, never more expensive.

Why is the price at the pump sometimes lower?

Because the maximum price is a ceiling, not a fixed price. Stations compete with each other and therefore often sell below the maximum. The gap can vary by station and by region.

Where do your figures come from?

Directly from the official sources: the FPS Economy for the current maximum price and Statbel be.STAT for the historical series. We do not invent any figures.

What is the difference between confirmed and forecast?

Confirmed means the FPS has already published the price for that day; we copy it exactly. Forecast means the day is not yet published and we show an estimate based on the rules and the market. Forecasts are never official figures.

Why does the maximum price not change every day?

The FPS uses a moving average of the international quotations and only adjusts the price when those quotations cross a legal threshold. The price therefore often stays the same for days, even when the oil price moves.

Is today’s price already known?

The price that applies today is published by the FPS on the previous working day. As soon as that list is available, we show it as confirmed. Until then, you see a forecast.

Is PumpPrice free?

Yes, completely free and without an account. The site is funded by advertising, which you can refuse through the cookie settings.

What do the arrows and percentages mean?

The arrow shows the difference from the previous day. The percentage on a forecast day is the chance that the price falls, stays the same or rises that day, computed from the history. The confidence score shows how sure we are of the predicted amount itself.

Why a separate price for Diesel B7, E10 and E5?

They are different fuels with their own composition and therefore their own maximum price. Diesel B7 is the standard diesel. E10 and E5 are two petrol 95 grades with a different bioethanol content.

Where can I report an error?

Via support@youreal.eu. Please mention the date and the fuel concerned.
